US MASH competitive set — approved agents and key Phase 3 pipeline
| Agent (company) | Class / MOA | US status |
|---|---|---|
| Rezdiffra (resmetirom) — Madrigal | Oral THR-β agonist | Approved Mar 14, 2024 (accelerated; NDA217785) |
| Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4 mg) — Novo Nordisk | GLP-1 receptor agonist (injectable) | Approved Aug 15, 2025 (accelerated) |
| Lanifibranor — Inventiva | Pan-PPAR (α/δ/γ) agonist | Phase 3 (pre-approval) |
The US MASH market is a live two-drug duopoly: Rezdiffra (resmetirom, approved Mar 2024) and Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4 mg, approved Aug 2025) both hold accelerated approval for noncirrhotic F2-F3 MASH. Semaglutide is already in-market, not a 2027 entrant, so the defensible move is locking preferred payer access and the fibrosis-regression position now, in a Year 0-1 retention fight.
